Benz & Brats Summer Gathering
Thirty-five Eastern Oklahoma section members and guests gathered in Bixby OK at the home of Tom DeLorbe to celebrate our second annual Benz & Brats potluck dinner and desserts. Tom was gracious to host this event in his backyard with an expansive patio and pool area. Even though it was another 95-degree day, members were shaded and enjoyed their favorite ice-cold beverages, three selections of brats from Seigi’s Sausage factory, and a big assortment of side dishes and desserts.
Matt Shyers served as a special guest speaker to inform the group of his role as the Corporate Chaplain for the Jackie Cooper Import dealerships. It is rare to have an official Chaplain at a dealership and his role is to help counsel and serve to the emotional needs of the 350 employees.
It was great to see members Ben and Sharon Cunningham make the journey from Edmund Ok as well as an excellent turnout from the greater Tulsa area. In years past, this event was called the Ice Cream Social, but we decided that since we were eating more than just ice cream that a new name should be chosen.
New officers and board of directors for the 2024-25 term were approved by the membership and will serve starting October 1, 2023.
